Brian is proud and honored to have fought for and served his country. He, along with thousands of his fellow veterans, now depends on the services provided by the Department of Veteran's Affairs and VA Hospitals to not only treat his various combat-related health issues, but to also meet all of his healthcare needs. ZimCon has completed several projects for the Department of Veteran's Affairs VA Hospitals, leaving behind a beautiful refined space for veterans to receive the specialty care they need. Brian's promise is to be on-site with his hands working on each and every VA and military project that ZimCon performs. Simple and cliche but reality.
Brian is also passionate about helping veterans, and is proud to be a part of 'Silent Battle' and 'The Eyes of Freedom: Lima Company Memorial' a nationally traveling military tribute, whose mission is to "Honor the Service and Sacrifice of all who answer our nations call". Acclaimed artist Anita Miller's life-sized portraits of the 23 fallen Marines and Navy Corpsman of Lima Company, with each mans own boots standing at the base of his portrait, is a beautiful tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Anita's recent creation, a life-size bronze sculpture entitled "Silent Battle" depicting a grieving veteran holding the dog tags of his friends., honors the losses due to post traumatic stress and veteran suicide, and illustrates the difficulty that many veterans experience as they navigate life after combat. Our hope is that Silent Battle will bring support, comfort and hope to our veterans and their families. Watch "The Promise" to learn more about Brian's Journey :

Brian struggles daily with PTSD and chronic pain from Gulf War Illness, but he finds his greatest happiness and healing through meeting and talking with other veterans. Brian is determined to do whatever he can to help other veterans who may be struggling or need help. He truly enjoys sharing his experiences, knowledge, and the resources that he has found helpful in navigating the maze of services that are out there to help our nations veterans.
Brian also finds comfort and healing in traveling to 'Eyes of Freedom' events across the country, and seeing first hand the impact that the 'Lima Company Memorial' and 'Silent Battle' have on not only veterans, but also their families. At the end of each event, Brian always comes back home with at least one new veteran "brother" that he keeps in touch with.
Throughout his journey, Brian has developed close friendships, along with a deep admiration for the entire 'Eyes of Freedom' crew. He is not affiliated with or employed by them. All veterans events he attends, are because he wants to be there for the veterans, and all travel expenses are paid out-of-pocket by him, privately with his own funds. If you'd like to donate to Brian's travel fund, you can do so here. Your support and contributions will help him offset the costs (fuel, lodging, & airfare) involved in traveling the country, meeting and helping other veterans, and are humbly and greatly appreciated.
